At Upbeat Pediatric Dentistry’s Tongue Tie Institute, we’re dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming environment for our patients, where their comfort and well-being are our top priorities.

One special member of our team who plays a significant role in spreading joy and providing comfort is Maggie, our beloved therapy dog.

In this blog post, we’ll introduce you to Maggie and share why she holds a special place in our hearts and the hearts of our patients.

Meet Maggie

Maggie is more than just a furry companion – she’s a certified therapy dog with a heart of gold. Born in Illinois, Maggie is an English golden retriever known for her gentle nature, unwavering loyalty, and boundless affection. With her endearing personality and intuitive sense, Maggie has become an integral part of our practice, bringing smiles to the faces of everyone she meets.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a therapy dog, Maggie fulfills a variety of roles and responsibilities within our pediatric dentistry clinic. Here are some of the ways Maggie contributes to our patients’ well-being:

Providing Comfort

Maggie has a natural ability to sense when someone is feeling anxious or upset. She offers comfort and reassurance to patients of all ages, helping them feel relaxed and at ease during their dental appointments.

Emotional Support

For children who may be nervous about visiting the dentist or undergoing dental procedures, Maggie serves as a source of emotional support. Her presence helps alleviate fear and anxiety, making dental visits a positive experience.

Motivation

Maggie’s playful demeanor and friendly disposition motivate children to engage in their dental care routines. Whether it’s brushing their teeth or sitting still during treatment, Maggie’s presence encourages kids to participate actively in their oral health.

Spreading Joy

Maggie’s infectious enthusiasm and unconditional love brighten the spirits of everyone she encounters. From patients and parents to our dental team, Maggie brings joy and laughter wherever she goes.

Building Connections

Maggie helps foster connections between patients and our dental team, creating a sense of camaraderie and trust. Her presence encourages open communication and strengthens the bond between patients and caregivers.

Unique Traits and Preferences

Maggie’s unique personality shines through in her likes, dislikes, and quirky preferences:

  • Maggie has a penchant for flip flops but prefers to go barefoot, enjoying the sensation of grass beneath her paws.
  • Despite her calm demeanor, Maggie has a playful side and enjoys engaging in fun activities with patients, such as playing fetch or tug-of-war.
  • Maggie has a fondness for movies but has a habit of dozing off during screenings, earning her the title of the clinic’s resident nap expert.
  • Maggie’s love for bacon knows no bounds, and she eagerly awaits the occasional treat as a reward for her hard work.
  • In her downtime, Maggie retreats to her cozy corner adorned with a “Keep Calm and Carry On” sign, where she relaxes and recharges for her next adventure.

Our Partnership With Maggie

Maggie, our therapy dog, holds a special place in our hearts and plays an invaluable role in our pediatric dentistry clinic. With her unwavering love, compassion, and therapeutic presence, Maggie brings comfort, joy, and companionship to our patients and staff alike.
